12-3-13 4 Days to go

So I have a marathon coming up if you haven't heard about it. I have been looking at the weather reports for the day of the race, which it will be starting at around 20ish degrees outside, and will be close to 40 by the time I am finishing up the race. So I will be thinking warm thoughts as I run.

Yesterday and today 6/6/13 -6/7/13

I've started to look at various training guides for a marathon, and am looking at other cooler temperature races to run. With Willcox, Az being in the lower to mid 80's to day of the race and the distance of travel to get there, I was thinking I should change which race I will run. As soon as I decide which race I am running, I will register, pay for it, and post it. Yesterday I made it to the gym for the second time. I even went as far as riding my bike the mile to get there. Tat nasty brain of mine got in the way again... I was able to run/walk for 36 min, make an 18 minute mile. I need to be around 15 to really start training. But idid discover that my fast walking pace done in a slow run was easier of my legs. I ask myself daily, "what am I getting myself into here?" 10-5-13 Wearing the correct clothes for the season of running

Schedule Miles: 26 Actual Distance: 27.04 Week Average RPE: 4.25 I passed my 6 mile continuous run and now have it set at 6.7 miles. Today I went up to the top of the Provo Canyon trail. I made it down to where I started my run Wednesday and was so freaking cold. I am happy I picked up some winter gear over the past week, legs were still cold, but I warmed up after about a mile. I was sporting a wool base layer from Costco as my top (the sleeves were long enough to protect my hands a little) under my regular running shirt. I also got some Wright's Socks, which are amazingly comfortable. But I neglected to get gloves. A must for winter and fall running apparently. It was different than usual today, I really had fun running my first three miles. I must be going crazy having fun with the first three miles. Did I mention it was cold? 12-7-13 Race Recap

I was a little scared when they dropped us off half way up a mountain in southern Utah. There was snow on the ground, and about 120 people who were gearing up to run a marathon. It's a small marathon, but as you get closer to Nevada you have some breathtaking views. Tomorrow Silvia and I will be driving home and will get some pictures of the views. So the play by play of the run: Pre-Run Last night I only had one running dream, I woke myself up and said something to the effect of, "I am not going to dream about running tonight and promptly went back to sleep. I picked up my packet last night and had some hope of getting a sticker of the marathon, but I will settle for a 26.2 bumper sticker to put next to my Halloween Half bumper sticker. We bumped into a couple last night who were just picking up his packet as well.
